Ivy Calvert is an American soprano acclaimed for her “soaring” voice and “absolutely priceless” stage presence (music city reviews).
Her upcoming 2026-2027 season features several role debuts, including Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier with Canto615 and Sandy The Schoolgirl in Fortuna The Time Bender Vs The School Girls of Doom at Nashville Opera. Her 2025-2026 season began with another role debut as Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Canto615.
In the 2024-2025 season she returned to The Atlanta Opera as First Spirit (cover) in The Magic Flute. She made her debut with Intersection Music singing Emily in Gillian Rae Perry’s new opera, The Weight of Light and debuted the role of Sophie in Werther with Canto615. She also competed as a semi-finalist in the 2025 Partners for The Arts National Competition.
Ms. Calvert’s 2024-2025 season began with The Atlanta Opera as the Page and Countess Ceprano (cover) in Rigoletto after appearing as Rosina in The Barber of Seville for The Atlanta Opera’s Studio Tour. She also made her Nashville Opera debut as Third Spirit in The Magic Flute.
Other notable recent engagements include Monica in The Medium with Amarillo Opera, and her canceled performances slated for the Covid-19 season included role debuts as Serpina in Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona and Serefina in Donizetti’s Il Campanello with Capitol Opera Harrisburg, as well as the guest soprano soloist in Craig Hella Johnson’s oratorio Considering Matthew Shepard with Kansas State University choirs.
She has performed as a featured soloist in numerous concert productions, including Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music at Festival Napa Valley, Bernstein à la carte with Wexford Festival Opera, and with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on their annual Traditional Christmas Tour and their Tea and Trumpets series.
Ms. Calvert has participated in several esteemed young artist and training programs, including Festival Napa Valley, The Atlanta Opera, and OperaFest Sewanee. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Kansas State University in Vocal Performance and her Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
